Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book, written in the 19th century, analyzes the "Babylon" referred to in Revelation 18. The author demonstrates that ancient Babylon was a symbol of the first great religious apostasy from God. Then, the author reasons, just as there was a first apostasy, there will be a second. The author goes on to show that many churches in the author's present day had characteristics of apostasy, having rejected the great light God had made available to them from His Word and works. The author, examining contemporary events, concludes that as the predicted time for Christ's return approaches, the rejection of truth among the churches will increase until they fall into complete apostasy. Then, the author argues, will come the plagues and the destruction of the world. Drawing from Biblical prophecy, the author's perspective on the events preceding the end of time is insightful and provides much to consider.
