Much assistance has been received from the Bureau's various correspondents throughout the British Empire. The translations here presented have not, with two exceptions, been specially made for this work, but are reproductions, with minor emendations, of translations which have already appeared in certain Blue Books or in the Bulletin of the International Lab-our Office, or in the new series known as the Legislative Series of the International Labour Office. The collection is believed to be complete to the end of 1920.

Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is an industrial compendium covering a time up to and including the end of the year 1920. It arose from an ILO initiative to examine various national and imperial regulations regarding lead poisoning and plumbism, and the author draws together a vast collection. The perspective is deliberately international, with contributions coming from across Europe, as well as from North and South America, and Australasia. The result is a detailed record of concern about the prevention of occupational plumbism, one that can be traced back to 1911. Naturally, the greatest attention is paid to lead mining, the smelting and metallurgical processes, and the manufacture and use of certain lead compounds. But the author's examination of the problem extends to include industries such as electric accumulator production, tinning of metal articles, vitreous enamelling, and even the manufacture of pottery and decoration of porcelain and earthenware. The result is a unique overview of a significant public health issue as it stood over a century ago, and one that will be of great interest to all those concerned with the history of industrial health and safety. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781333673451_0
