Synopsis
This book traces the life of George Washington, detailing his personal life and domestic habits from his birth in 1732 until his military service in the Revolutionary War. The author draws upon a collection of Washington's personal writings and letters, as well as interviews with his contemporaries to present a well-rounded portrait of the man. More than a simple biography, the author examines Washington's character, his actions, and his motivations and uses his life to provide valuable moral examples for the youth of today and to instill a love for the great and good man whose public and private service equally furnish the noblest as well as the safest objects for their guide and imitation.
