Ringford. Sometimes when Ninian comes to see me, and we are sitting together cozily by the fire, waiting for Claude to come in from his rounds for he has a large West End practice, and his tiresome patients will send for him in the evening we often talk of old days, and especially of that windy March morning when we first saw little Boy Blue. That was Claude sname for him, but Ninian and I called him the Blue Boy, or the Scaramouch. In fact, there was no end to the names Ninian invented for him; he called him by turns the Mountebank, Punchinello, Snip-snap-snorum, Beggar-my-neighbor, and the Tt Mad Hatter; in fact, his nomenclature was as broad as ON inian swit. COG oit, little un, Claude would say, jeeringly; as Xlong as you do not call him Beelzebub I dont mind. QQ But Ninian gazed at him sadly. What a splendid name! he said, regretfully. You ve bowled me out, Claude but then Aunt Pen might object to Beelzebub.
