This book delves into the prophecies of the Old and New Testaments, examining their historical context and the insights they provide into the future. The author challenges the prevailing view that Christ's second coming will be purely spiritual and instead argues for a literal, personal return of the Messiah. This belief is supported by a thorough analysis of relevant prophecies, which the author believes have been consistently fulfilled throughout history. The book explores the reasons for the widespread neglect of these prophecies, such as the influence of apostate churches and the tendency to spiritualize or ignore predictions relating to Israel. The author emphasizes the importance of understanding the prophecies and their implications for the future, arguing that such knowledge can provide guidance and hope in uncertain times.

This little book contains the substance of a siiort course of lectures, delivered during the spring of the present year, to a limited audience, for whom exclusively they were prepared. Some of the hearers, to whom the views were novel, expressed a wish to possess them in a permanent form for reference; and accordingly, at such leisure hours as I could command, this volume has been prepared for the press, including some points omitted in the delivery. I am well aware that all it contains has been better said by others; but there appears to be yet room for a short elementary introduction to these momentous topics, and this has no higher pretensions.
