Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents the theory that every faculty or mode of mental phenomena is localized in specific parts of our brains. The author draws on physiological and phrenological principles to argue that the power of the mind or a faculty is, all other things being equal, dependent upon the size and development of the brain or part of the brain through which it is manifested. Phrenology, as a system of mental science, is not fully accepted by all scientific men, but the author believes that there is some reason to suppose that the upper part of the brain and the posterior lobes have more to do with feeling than with understanding, and that different convolutions of the brain do subserve different functions in our mental life. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781333998653_0
