This festschrift contains 262 papers, most of which are single authored. The author, a Spanish botanist trained in Europe, spent most of his career in both Colombia and the United States. Due to the specific nature of his work much of his research was conducted in the Andes. The author published taxonomic revisions of many South American plant families, including the authorship of two subtribes, three genera, and many species from the sunflower family. In sum, this book explores the vast botanical contributions made by Josà Cuatrecasas, who dedicated his life to the study of South American flora in general, and the sunflower family in particular. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
