There is scarcely any case of disease in which I njections, once or twice a day, may not be used to advantage. When the bowels are in a very torpid condition, these Injections may be taken frequently, and to the extent of two or three pints; but in most cases one pint is sufficient to cause the bowels to act freely. All persons liable to sickness should have a goodS yringe for their own use; but there are manyS yringes orE nemas made that are worse than useless, inasmuch as the valves soon become impaired, and the result is a griping pain in the bowels, caused by the injection of air instead of water, hence every person should be particular in the selection of a suitable instrument. The Patent Disconnecting Enemas are the only ones that Mr. Wells can fully recommend, inasmuch as they are well made, and if the valves corrode by use, they can be disconnected, the valves liberated, and set to work in perfect condition in three minutes a very easy process, and learned in one minute. This Enema is not likely to get out of order as readily as most other makes, and it generally lasts for many years if carefully used.
