Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book offers a detailed examination of tidal observations collected over a 19-year period at the Boston dry dock. By studying these observations, the author has produced a complex set of tidal formulas for predicting tides along the New England coast. The formulas contain numerous terms, each representing a different astronomical influence, and have been combined to produce tables for simplifying tidal calculations and extrapolating into the future. The author has also applied theoretical mathematical models to the empirical data, testing the accuracy of the formulas and establishing general relations between the various constants within the formulas, which he presents in a way that is accessible to readers that may not be familiar with the complex theoretical background. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781334030918_0
