In regard to women immigrants, His Excel leney said: Are you using your influence to assure that the increasing stream of women who enter Canada through your gates shall be switched on to rails leading to happiness, instead of misery? Remember, every woman who enters Canada will make an impress on the national character, and it is important that she should be made into a good Canadian citizen as quickly as possible. The address was delivered at the inaugural luncheon of the Club held in the Royal Victoria College. The Countess Grey was also present and manifested a deep interest in the new organization.
