Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book, the result of the author's extensive study of darkened rocks along the Nile and in the Egyptian desert, delves into the unique natural phenomenon and its implications. Despite many writers noting the occurrence of these blackened rocks over the centuries, the author was the first to investigate them scientifically, examining specimens from all major locations along the river in the early 1900s. Through chemical analyses, microscopic examination, and fieldwork, the author sought to determine the origins and composition of the mysterious black film covering these rocks, concluding that it is the result of natural erosion and weathering processes in a desert context and exploring its wider implications on rock formation in arid environments. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. N° de réf. du vendeur 9781334493782_0
