Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book presents an account of the breach of solemn promises made by Louis XIV, the late King of France. The author examines the principles of ambition that led Louis XIV to aspire to universal monarchy, and the treachery employed in his pursuit of it, which were instilled in him by his educators and mentors. The author discusses the ambitions and treacherous behaviors of Louis XIV in great detail giving clear examples of how he inverted plans put forward by his predecessors that showed equity and instead set himself on a path of absolute conquest. Numerous excerpts from primary sources are included throughout the book as evidence to support the author's claims. This book will provide valuable insights into the reign of Louis XIV and the devastating impact of his ambition and treachery on Europe.
