Paperback. Etat : New. Print on Demand. This book is an ancient Greek play set in Kaludon during the Regency of Nielanios. It tells the story of Koresos, a priest, who has been tasked by the god Dionusos to find a sacrificial victim to stop a plague that is ravaging the city. Koresos chooses Kallirrhoe, a beautiful princess, and plans to sacrifice her in a sacred ritual. However, Kallirrhoe is loved by the prince, Eurupulos, and he pleads with Koresos to spare her life. Koresos refuses, and Eurupulos challenges him to a duel. Koresos is killed in the duel, and Kallirrhoe, heartbroken, kills herself. The play explores the themes of love, sacrifice, and the nature of the gods. The author delves into the complexities of human emotion and the difficult choices that people must make in the face of adversity. Ultimately, the play asks the question of whether or not the gods are just, and whether or not their demands are always for the best.
