Excerpt from By-Laws of De Molay Commandery of Knights Templars, and the Appendant Orders: First Adopted 1849; Reed 1869-1879
Sect. 3. The first eleven enumerated officers shall be chosen annually, at the stated assembly in September, by written ballot; the others shall be appointed by the Commander immediately after his installation.
The officers shall be installed as soon as may be convenient, and shall hold their offices until their successors are installed.
There shall also be chosen at the annual assem bly, in the year eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, by written ballot, three Sir Knights to constitute the Committee on Commandery Fund. One mem ber of said committee shall be elected for three years, one for two years, and one for one year, and annually thereafter there shall be chosen by ballot one Sir Knight to serve for three years all vacan cies occurring. In said committee may be filled, for, the unexpired term, in the same manner in which the original election is herein directed to be made. The Treasurer shall not be eligible to election upon this committee.
