Several years ago Elders laboring in the British Mission conceived the idea of compiling a small volume of texts from the Old and New Testament, illustrating the leading doctrines of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. The well known little work Ready References was the result, a book that has been of incalculable value to the Elders in the various missionary fields. It has occurred to the compiler of the present volume that Book of Mormon Ready References might be equally valuable, both to missionaries and other Saints desirous of seeing at a glance the perfect harmony between the different sacred volumes the stick of Judah and the stick of Ephraim. The result is found in these pages, which are now sent out into the world with an earnest desire that they may help to a better understanding and appreciation of the Book that came forth through the administration of angels, and the testimony of which has been sealed by the blood of martyrs. The Ready References do not aim to make the study of the volume itself superfluous. Their mission is to aid that study and perhaps point the way to a more systematic reading of the Book of Mormon.
