This is a handbook for progressive vegetable growers. It is a rehable and up-to-date rule-book for both home gardening and market gardening. It springs from Pennsylvania, a state great in gardening owing to nearness to big cities and their markets; and Dean Watts, its author, is an experienced and widely recognized authority in these fields. It is, also, a guidebook for studying vegetable growing thoroughly from all angles, practical and technical, managerial and scientific. It applies principles set forth in Vocational Agricultural Education, the first book of this Project Series. By its open spacing, it offers a convenient framework for listhig local problems, questions, and plans. This open spacing should assist in keeping help and self-help of the learner in desirable balance. It should make the learner at once critical and self-reliant.
