The first performances of The Blessed Birthday and Santa Conversazione were given in 1919, at the Bennett School, Millbrook, New York, with Edith Wynne Matthison as the American Soldier in Santa Conversazione, and Charles Rann Kennedy as the Spirit of Tolstoi. The Blessed Birthday was first published by Messrs. E. P. Dutton Company, New York, and Messrs. J. M. Dent Sons, London, in 1917. Thy Kingdom Come is included in the Cycle byrthe courtesy of The Atlantic Monthly.
