9781394268245: Optic Technologies Enabling Fusion Ignition

Synopsis

"The recent scientific grand challenge achievement of nuclear fusion ignition at the Nation Ignition Facility (NIF) was enabled by monumental sets of advanced technologies in the areas of optics, targets, diagnostics, laser architecture, and high energy density physics computation. This book covers the optic technologies that have enabled the world's most energic laser--the NIF at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in Livermore, CA, USA-- to successfully and reliably fire high-energy and -power laser shots and to repeatably achieve fusion ignition."--
