The nature of these studies was such as to require the collaboration of many individuals, both within and without the Company. In such a comprehensive project, mention can be made of only a few of the many who have contributed to the progress of the work. The advice and assistance given by Professor Elton Mayo of the Industrial Research Department of the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration were, of the highest character and deserve special commendation. He and his staff actively participated in these studies almost from their inception, and the results obtained are due in large part to their enthusiastic interest in the work and to their valuable contributions to it.
