Tying into his other blockbuster stories of 2008 Final Crisis and Batman: The Ressurection of Ra's Al Ghul, the legendary Grant Morrison confronts readers with the unthinkable...the death of The Dark Knight.
The troubled life of Bruce Wayne seems to spin out of control when his releationship with the mysterious Jezebel Jet deepens. Soon Bruce Wayne drops out completely, having seemingly become the victim of mental illness and abandoning his Batman identity for a life on the streets of Gotham City. Capitalizing on the fall of their greatest foe, the Club of Villains begin a crime spree through the streets of Gotham that threatens to bring the city to its knees.

Writer Grant Morrison is known for his innovative work on comics from the graphic novel Arkham Asylum to acclaimed runs on Animal Man and Doom Patrol, as well as his subversive creator-owned titles such as The Invisibles, Seaguy, and WE3. Grant has also written best-selling runs on JLA, Seven Soldiers of Victory, and New X-Men, and helped to reinvent the DC Universe in The Multiversity, All Star Superman, 52, Batman, Batman & Robin and Batman, Inc.
Tony S. Daniel decided to be a comics artist in the eighth grade, and he hasn't looked back since. After making his professional debut in 1993 on Comico's The Elementals, he has contributed to Marvel's X-Force and Image's Spawn: Bloodfeud as well as writing and illustrating his own titles Silke, The Tenth, and F5, which led him into work in Hollywood. After being lured back into comics to work with writer Geoff Johns on Teen Titans, Daniel went on to draw The Flash before landing his dream job pencilling Batman. The Batcave is, he reports, surprisingly cozy.
