More than 10 years ago, Jeff Foxworthy decided to quit his job as an IBM engineer to work the comedy club circuit. In his first six years on the road, he won the Great Southeastern Laff-Off, the Zanies/Pepsi-Cola Laff-Off, and the Coors Laff-Off. In 1990, he captured the award for "Best Stand-Up Comic" at the American Comedy Awards. After critical acclaim and rave reviews for his first Showtime special, he landed a second, which went on to earn a Cable ACE Award nomination.
