Synopsis

For the first time ever, SHOOTING STARS brings to life the breathless world of paparazzi and their astonishingly collaborative relationships with the stars. As a young wife and mom struggling to make ends meet in LA, Jennifer Buhl bumped into the paparazzi one day while waiting tables. Out of curiosity, she struck up a conversation with one of them and soon found herself chasing down celebrities in her battered station wagon, earning thousands a day for the photos she captured. In her clever, credible memoir, Jennifer takes us on a wild-ride through her three-year stint in this testosterone-driven business and shows how achieving glamour is not always so glamorous. Celebrities, it turns out, need the paparazzi to keep up their stardom. Many call the paps before they go shopping or out on the town. And the paparazzi in turn, actually respect celebs who don t want to be photographed and leave them alone, mostly. Balancing juicy anecdotes with a poignant personal story of heartache, love, and the tick-tock of a biological clock, this sassy, smart, and utterly addictive book will leave you with an entirely new perspective on these star-chasing cameramen--and camerawomen.
