Ms. Thompson was raised in Arkansas in the midst of country music. From a young age, she had a knack for the arts, singing and writing just the same. It wasn't until she was a little older that it all started becoming evident what she was supposed to be doing. In short, in her words, 'I've always looked at it like this, if there's a talent you're born with, that is a gift from God and one that should never be wasted. It was given to you for a reason.' And as each day passes, with many more books in her future, she still clings to the simplicity she's always loved--family, friends, and just the pure joy of doing what she loves. 'It's strange to think of myself as an author. And when people try and make a big deal out of it, I just tell them . . . I enjoy writing . . . that's all.'
