Chicago... The Day After Tomorrow... Martin Boyle is a cop with the Chicago PD's Online Intelligence Division, where he works the dark, seamy side of the Global Data Web. Boyle's is working the kind of case he relished: bring down a gang dealing in virtual reality child pornography. Everything goes by the numbers until, without explanation, Boyle is ordered to drop the case. Never one to play by the rules, Boyle begins his own investigation, taking him from the darkest corners of dataspace, where information is currency and true identities are taboo, to the gleaming offices of the rich and powerful, where the elites think they're untouchable. From the beginning, Boyle is warned that his actions could cost him his career. Before he uncovers the truth about the case, they may cost him his life.

I was born June 16, 1966, and grew up in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Since I was born with Muscular Dystrophy, I never went through the so-called 'normal' childhood experiences of playing ball, riding bikes, or getting beat up by the class jock. I've also been ventilator-dependent since the age of seven. I credit two things for surviving with my sanity (somewhat) intact. 1: My family, who has sacrificed so much to make my life worthwhile. 2: Science fiction, for providing me with an escape valve, when reality becomes tedious. This was okay until high school, when being branded a 'science fiction nerd' was worse than being handicapped! After graduating high school with high honors in 1984, I intended to become a Navy SEAL, but then figured that my wheelchair and ventilator might interfere with locking out from a submarine. Instead, I decided to take a crack at full-time writing. My first success was Old Soldiers, a mystery self-published in 1989. Since then, I have also self-published two science fiction novels: To Rule In Hell and Data Streets, both of which are available from 1stBooks Library. When not writing, I enjoy reading, classical music, punk rock, collecting science fiction memorabilia, movies, computer games, arguing politics and, whenever possible, attending science fiction conventions in my area. I still live in Oconomowoc with my parents and our cocker spaniel, Murph. One more thing: now I'm proud to be a nerd!
