À propos des auteurs
Jim Helmore and Karen Wall live in South London. Karen still works as a textile designer when she's not creating books, and Jim has worked in the publishing industry. They have won the picture book category of the Sheffield Book Award for their first book, Letterbox Lil (OUP), and received the silver Practical Parenting award for 'Who are you, Stripy Horse' in 2007. Other than 'Stripy Horse', they have also published 'Oh No, Monster Tomato!' (Egmont) and 'Letterbox Lil' (OUP)
Karen Wall was born in Fife and studied textile design in Dundee. She moved to London to work as a home accessories and toy designer before illustrating her first book in 2005. As well as illustrating, Karen loves growing flowers, drawing shapes with sparklers and going to the seaside. One day she hopes to own a sausage dog.
She lives in South London with daughter Nina and husband, author Jim Helmore with whom she has created many books including the award winning Stripy Horse series.
Their books have won the Sheffield Children’s Book Award, Dundee Book Award and a Practical Parenting Award.
When she’s not illustrating books Karen designs ceramics, textiles and greeting cards.
