Anne Fine is a much loved and acclaimed children’s book author. She has won the Boston Globe Horn Book Award in 2003 for "Stories of Jamie and Angus", the Carnegie Medal in 1993 for "Flour Babies" (which also won the Whitbread Children’s Novel Award) and in 1990 for "Goggle Eyes", twice been voted British Book Awards Children's Author of the Year (1990 and 1993) and was the Children’s Laureate for 2001-2003. Some of her other books include "The Haunting of Pip Parker", "How to Cross the Road and Not Turn Into a Pizza"," Care of Henry" and "Nag Club". Her book "Madame Doubtfire" inspired the internationally successful film "Mrs Doubfire". She lives in County Durham.
Penny Dale is one of the UK's leading children’s book illustrators. She was born in 1954 and She lives in Gwent, South Wales. Penny studied fine art and design at Exeter College of Art, and since leaving there, has worked on community art projects, street theatre props and as a graphic designer. In 1982 she moved to Wales to concentrate on painting and printmaking and is a member of the Watercolour Society of Wales. Her book, "Rosie's Babies" written by Martin Waddell, was short listed for the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1990. Her other titles include "Wake Up, Mr B!" (also short listed for the Kate Greenaway Medal) and "Ten in the Bed". She lives in Wales.
