Ad?le Geras has written over 100 books for children, including the highly-acclaimed Troy, which was shortlisted for The Whitbread Prize. For Orchard she has written The Orchard Book of Opera Stories. Ad?le lives in Manchester.

Shelagh McNicholas has illustrated several young fiction titles, but this is her first book for Orchard. Shelagh lives in Surrey.
