John William Polidori (7 September 1795 – 24 August 1821) was an English writer and physician famous for his associations with the Romantic movement and for being, as many maintain, the creator of the vampire genre of fantasy fiction. His most notable work was the short story "The Vampyre" (1819). This volume will appeal to those with an interest in the life of Polidori and especially those who he associated with, namely Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
