Synopsis
Ethna Carbery was the pseudonym of Anna MacManus, née Johnston, (1866-1902), an Irish writer and poet. She founded with Alice Milligan two nationalist publications The Northern Patriot, and then The Shan Van Vocht in 1896, which appeared monthly until 1899. Her works include: The Four Winds of Eirinn (1902), The Passionate Hearts (1903) and In the Celtic Past (1904).
