Stepnen A. Hopkins was born on cape Cod in Easthamat the.home of a mid-wife.¿ He grew upin Orleans where his family had lived continuously since1644. He attended the University of Massachusetts,graduating with a BA degree in 1954, and then spent two years in the Army,stationed in Germany, eventually attending Boston College Law School,graduating in 1961. Working for a medium sized law firm in Boston, Stevespent 36 years as a trial attorney, handling a wide variety of cases, some ofwhich he tells about in his book. Steve Hopkins retired in April 1998 and he and hiswife now divide their time between their home in Orleans and their winter homein Angui1la BWI.
