Fran Gilliland, artist, writer, and avid history buff, lives in South Texas. A relentless researcher for page and canvas, she draws from a wellspring of inspiration for writing from frontier pioneers she was privileged to know.her great-grandmother who homesteaded as a bride in 1880 Texas, her grandmother who ranched with her husband in the 1912 Texas Panhandle, and her mother who traipsed her great-uncle's ranch in Indian Territory, Oklahoma, part of which Fran inherited.
