Born in 1987, in Tallahassee, Florida, where he lived till he was ten, Zenas Cao moved to the Silicon Valley area in California. While completing middle school and high school, he traveled with his parents to many countries in Europe and Asia as well as to Australia. During the seven years before he turned seventeen in which he wrote-and rewrote-this fantasy, he lived with his mother in Palo Alto, California. They spent summers visiting his father and other relatives in China. When he wasn't writing about the adventures of Kyle and his brother Jack, Zenas read widely, watched TV, and played video games and many sports. Today, he enjoys swimming, playing table tennis, and shooting pool.
