I was born in a small town in Sicily, on an island off the coast of Italy I came to this country during the cold winter weeks of December on a ship called the Marine Perch. This vessel was a war ship that was converted into a passenger transport after World War II. At that time I was three and a half years old. My family and I arrived in America on December 15, 1947 at the dock in New York City. Through my growing years my parents with me and my sister settled in a small town, Enfield, in the state of Connecticut. In my adult years I moved to work in our family restaurant, Topside Inn, in Galesville, MD. where I met my husband. My husband asked me to marry him three weeks after we met, one week latter I said yes and we were married 6 months later. Settling in Crofton, MD after we were married is where my husband and I raised our three sons.
