Or Buck, who was anabject coward in life, but something more in death, as you will read in ?WhereSleeping Dogs Lie.? In ?Jake,? you?ll meet a beagle whose loyalty to hismistress transcends even the laws of space and time. And in ?Death of aMessiah,? you?ll be introduced to a dog whose master resists the greatesttemptation if it means sacrificing his best friend. These dogs and others arethe heroes of the seven stories that sprang from Jim Dustin?s experience withreal dogs and his unfortunate possession of an unreal imagination.
