Synopsis
Feel the thrills experienced byDirk, a young Royal Air Force cadet pilot undergoing training in England.From a solo flight in an open cockpit biplane, Dirk soon graduates to morepowerful piston-engine aircraft.Two cadets from his trainingcourse of twenty will be chosen to fly a top-secret jet fighter. Thecompetition for these positions is intense. Unbeknown to the cadets, thenormal hazards of flying are not the only thing they have to fear. A Russianspy is in their midst. His mission: acquire the specs to the top-secret jetfighter. To do this, he must be one of those selected to fly the secret plane -no matter what it takes.Initially, near fatal accidentsappear to be chance events, but eventually Dirk and those working to expose thespy suspect sabotage. People and their purposes are not what they at first seemto be.In the midst of this intrigue,Dirk soon finds himself wrestling with love and duty when, at off-duty parties,he meets and is entranced by the charm of his flying instructor's wife. Apassionate, clandestine romance develops. If exposed, it could scuttle hislonged-for flying career and interfere with plans to trap the spy.

Biographie de l'auteur
Born in London, England, the author is anex Royal Air Force pilot and professional engineer. In 1949 he caught polio during¿ advancedflying training. Following rehabilitation he retrained as an electricalengineer. His sweetheart, Joan, was the 'angel' who stayed by his side. Theymarried and in 1964 emigrated to the United States with their three children. They allbecame citizens, and he had a successful career in electrical engineeringresearch, with over 33 patents. He and Joan now live in Florida.Other books by the¿author, include:Paice, D. A.
