Jules Gindraux, an Air Force veteran and retired international airline executive, lived and traveled in many parts of the world for 32 years. He was acquainted with diverse customs and ways of life and witnessed the tides of history following World War II. After growing up in Spokane, Washington, during the Great Depression, he served two tours of duty in North Africa as a U.S. Air Force pilot. After his discharge in Cairo, he helped found Middle East Airlines, Lebanon's national airline. He then joined Trans World Airlines and was in overseas managerial positions until retiring in 1978. After retirement he has remained active in environmental protection activities in North Idaho.
