Rear Admiral Moon's death was officially ruled a suicide; but the testimony at the Board of Inquiry raises questions about what really happened- which Jonathan P Alter and Daniel Crouch present to the reader more than sixty years later in 'My dear Moon' .Drawing from extensive research, including e-mail interviews of veterans, primary source documents from the Moon family, old historical newspapers and Government documents- some obtained via Freedom of Information Act requests. Alter and Crouch unearth the mystery of the cause of this great man's death.

Jonathan P Alter lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife .Alter started out as a History major at the University of Southern California in the early 1970's , but switched to Business Administration with a minor in History. His interest in Naval history comes from the many stories told by his father - the late Commander Allan C Alter, a World War II veteran of the USS Buckingham. Daniel Crouch recently moved to Springfield , Virginia with his wife. He was formerly a resident of Austin, Texas for many years. Crouch worked with the State of Texas on the restoration of the USS Texas, and is very familiar with naval ship construction. His educational background includes a Master's degree in Archaeology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Crouch recently donated his typescripts of letters hand written by an officer on the USS Buckingham to the University of Southern Mississippi's McCain Library and Archives. In his spare time, Jonathan P Alter works on legal research - with a goal of helping bring Justice to the disabled poor , and shining a light on the Truth about the shocking legal injustices here in America. Let it be known that there is at least one sandwich grabbing attorney who has a warrant out for her.
