Michele Kohan is a mother of three who grew up in rural northeastern Pennsylvania, and began writing short stories and poems as a young child. Many of her childhood summers were spent in a dusty old building that housed the public library in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. The stories she read awakened within her a thirst for adventure that has not yet been fully quenched. At the age of eighteen, Michele moved with her family to central Florida where she completed her education and began a career with the City of Ocala that would span the next seventeen years. By Christmas of 2004, the seed had been planted for the move to Costa Rica. A ‘scouting’ trip the following March set the wheels in motion, and the family moved in June, 2005 to Puerto Viejo. There, the ‘Chronicles of the Jungle Mom’ were born.
