Report Models and Report Builder were introduced as a new piece of infrastructure in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 for the first time. This Book digs deep into the guts of the Structure of a Report Model and lines out the possible parameters and their influence for the user of Report Builder. Gerald Schinagl is a Solutions Architect and Project Manager at the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). His responsibilities start with Archiving Solutions, Content Management Systems as well as innovative applications for the support of television-production. His first encounter with the IT world was the famous Commodore 64 and later on an AT-Machine with 1 MB of Memory - an enormous machine at that time. Gerald has been with SQL Server since Version 7.0 in all kinds of fields, starting from T-SQL over OLAP, ETL, Reporting and Data Mining. For SQL Server 2005 Gerald has been in a very close Beta-program with Microsoft and developed a lot of new solutions in the classical database engine extending the database with own datatypes and aggregates as well as in the Business Intelligence field with end-to-end solutions using UDM, Analysis Services Integration Services, Reporting Services and Report Models
