The events that took place in this book were actual events; the names of the characters were changed to protect what was left of their dignity. Everyone at one point in his or her lives feels like this is the way life is, well it doesn't have to be. You have the power to change what happens to you and your children by the choices that you make for yourself and them. The choices you make have an affect on your children in one way or another. Then there are the people that think it'll never happen to them. This book was written for those people. If it can happen, it will. There are no guarantees in life. If you know the symptoms then you can prevent the years of heartaches. I can only hope that no one ever has to go through life the way I did, no one should ever have to feel as low about himself or herself as a person, everyone is special and has a purpose in life.

Biographie de l'auteur

I only remember bits and pieces from my life, what I do remember are bad memories and the experiences I'll never forget. I have spent many years trying to protect myself from anyone who tried to get close to me, close enough that I thought they could hurt me. As time went on and I grew up I realized that I had to experience what happened to be the person I am today. I have always had an interest in writing. I never thought I had it in me to pursue that dream until just recently. I have written letters to the editor of our local paper. I took a course of study in professional instruction in writing articles and short stories for publication. I received a diploma upon completion on November 16, 2000. I have three very special and unique boys. I married a very special, wonderful and understanding man who also has three very special boys. We have combined our families and today although they are grown and have lives of their own, we still connect in our hearts and it helps us get through difficult times in our lives. We have been together for seventeen years. He is my inspiration and most of all my sanity.
