Biographie de l'auteur

The author, a writer since childhood, earned a degree in English at Pacific University in Oregon and San Francisco State University. She continued to write while raising a family and later working and retiring as a superior court law clerk. In middle age, after interviewing her mother in depth, she became mesmerized by stories of her maternal ancestors and began the reading and research necessary to bring this family odyssey to life. With information gathered by her father many years ago and genealogical records assembled by her brother David, she pieced together an intimate picture of the struggles, tragedies and triumphs of people and times long gone. Ms. Chamberlin Levy lives in San Francisco, has three children and one grandson.
