STEVEN J. ALBIN was born in Warrington, England in 1954. When he was a small child, the family moved to Pennsylvania. Six years later, they relocated to south Florida. 1n 1981, Albin obtained his BFA from the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota. Later, he completed an Elementary Education program at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. He also attended the Institute of Children's Literature in Reading Ridge, Connecticut. Albin is the author and illustrator of The Basketmaker, a full color story-picture book published in 1992. He is currently working on book two of the Boss of the Swamp trilogy.
