The Author became interested in poetry after the death of his mother-in-law. He wrote "Death Angel" to express his feelings of helplessness. He wrote to put emotions on paper that were hid in his heart. He wrote poems of love, grief, death, life, nature, family and spiritual poems. As he wrote sometimes tears would stain the page as emotions were transferred by his pen. Some poems were about his experiences, some were written as he took on life experiences of others as in the poem "Flight 800". As a farmer and rancher he knows how much he depends on God and reflects this as in the poem "Farmer". He is a Christian that loves the Lord, family and America.
