Jacob O. Smith, Sr. was born 1932 in Megargel, (Monroe County) Alabama. He was the eldest of fourteen children of illiterate parents. Ran away from home at age 15 to see the world, served honorably in the U. S. Naval Reserve, Army and Air Force. He is self educated and for forty years was the owner of a commercial printing company, has nine U.S. patents, two of which directly relate to products he and his family manufacturer for the U.S. Military. From Monroe County, Alabama, Jacob Smith, Sr. joins an elite company of award winning author's such as Harper Lee's, "To Kill A Mockingbird", and Truman Capote's novel "In Cold Blood".
