The book 'When Tomorrow Comes' is about my Life's adventures, my thoughtful insight and reflections. It's about the many people that I have met in my life and the path that I've traveled.The impact those people have had upon my life caused me to write about my adventures in poems, jokes and stories. I hope my book will inspire courage, create laughter and cause one to reflect on their life and the journey one must travel.

Biographie de l'auteur

Dr. Sam Hughes was one of four siblings born in Houston, Texas to the parents of Rev. George W. Hughes and Lillian M. (Hughes) Outley. Dr. Hughes attended Jack Yates High. We was an officer in the ROTC Drill Team . Among his many outstanding high school classmates were sisters Phyllisha (Allen) Rashad-Movie/TV star of the Bill Cosby Show and Debbie Allen-Dancer/TV actress of FAME.Dr. Hughes served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-70 as a hospital corpsman 3rd class. He was ijured in Viet Nam while on patrol and medically retired with an Honorable Discharge. Less than half a mile from his high school, Dr. Hughes attended Texas Southern University where he received hi BS, MS, and Ed.D degrees.Dr. Hughes taught in the Houston Independent School District as a self-contained special education teacher for behavioral students, adapted physical education for the disabled, special education supervisor/coordinator, and Director of Adapted Physical Education.Dr. Hughes served as a Special Olympic coach for the disabled for 25 years. He also coached Youth Football and Little League Baseball-minors and seniors. Currently, he is a USA Track & Field coach and official in the Houston area.Dr. Hughes retired from the Houston Independent School District in 2002 after 32 years of service. He is married. He and wife Patricia have four children and six grandkids that are the sources of many of his poems. His hobbies are coaching, officiating and traveling.
