Nous sommes en pleines révoltes en 1832. Des émeutes ont lieu dans Paris le jour des funérailles du général Lamarque. Anjolras et ses acolytes préparent une barricade à proximité du cabaret, le Corinthe. Sans nouvelles de Cosette, Marius rejoint la révolution. Éponine le retrouve et, avant de mourir, lui donne une lettre de Cosette. Gavroche transmet la réponse de Marius à Jean Valjean qui apprend ainsi le secret de sa fille.
