Yost is the director of the Charles Babbage Institute for Computing, Information, and Culture and a research professor of the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine Program at the University of Minnesota. He is the author of Making IT Work: A History of the Computer Services Industry. Gerardo Con Díaz is an associate professor of science and technology studies at the University of California, Davis. He is the author of Software Rights: How Patent Law Transformed Software Development in America.
