J. Albert grew up in Berwyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, where at the age of 14 his pharmacy career began behind a soda fountain at the local corner drugstore. After a short time he was asked to clerk in the pharmacy section of the store, and at age 16 he knew he wanted to be a pharmacist. After high school graduation from Fenwick High School on Oak Park, Illinois he attended the University of Illinois School of Pharmacy in Chicago. It was in 1953 that he became a pharmacist. Except for 2 years in the military service where he served as a trained laboratory technician at a major US Army Hospital in Tacoma, WA, his whole career was dedicated to pharmacy. As a pharmacist, drugstore manager, and pharmacy director, he practiced pharmacy in over 150 pharmacies in Illinois, Washington State, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska. J. Albert's main focus on health has always been that of prevention, and he prided himself with the care he gave his prescriptions patients and drugstore customers. At the age of 70 he retired after over 56 years of a pharmacy career. He now resides with his wife of 51 years in Normandy Park, WA, and a small community south of Seattle, Washington. . . USA.
