Biographie de l'auteur

Karla Ritzen has been a teacher in the Fort Bend Independent School District for thirteen years. She also instructs other teachers in science lab activities and writes science and health curriculum for the district. While instructing new teachers, she mentions the importance of teaching children to keep a science journal. She created this book to enhance the process of journaling for both teachers and students, so that children can get the most out of their science labs. Karla has lived in Texas all of her life. She has a son who is her inspiration for being a good teacher. She raised him to appreciate the world around him by recognizing science in every day life. Among their many science adventures together are digging for worms, raising monarch butterflies in the backyard, studying the night sky, looking for man-made satellites, and viewing a space shuttle launch in person.
