This new emerging generation was reflected in an America which opened its shores to those who brought with them the ambition and optimism to overcome all obstacles. We follow Michael Philbin from boyhood to young manhood, as he flees the violence and tragedy of his country to seek a future in an unknown land which may enable him to fulfill his destiny. The tale of Michael Philbin and his quest represents the bridge between those two generations. Yet the best of both eras will eventually forge a unique blend of people, tempered by the horrors of war, and hardened by the onslaught of an economic depression. This is a story about one of that generation.
